Welcome to Krems!
We're happy that you're interested in studying at IMC Krems.
Studying in the heart of Europe
Our university has a distinctive international flair: the students hail from over 50 nations and almost half of our courses are offered in English.
The university town of Krems has a character all of its own. You'll be studying in the very heart of Europe at three unique locations: IMC Campus Krems, and the historic IMC Piaristengasse and IMC Gozzoburg sites. A truly unique combination.
There's also lots to discover in your free time. Spectacular mountain scenery, magnificent European cities, and the Wachau UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Region – all this and more are only a short train ride away from Krems.
With this in mind: Servus – and welcome to Krems!
Our exchange network includes universities from all over the world. If your university is one of them, then you can study at IMC Krems by applying to the exchange programme at your university.
Choosing your classes
You'll have access to our intranet where you can register online for your courses. From September 1 for the winter semester and March 1 for the summer semester. It's first come, first served, so we recommend that you register for your courses sooner rather than later.
Please find out in advance at your home university how our courses will be accredited. Find out more by reading our Exchange Student`s Guide.
Get off to a good start in Krems
By the way: we assign a buddy to every exchange student – a student who will be your contact at Krems during your time with us. This system is designed to help you settle in at Krems, and buddies often become lifelong friends.
Welcome Days at the beginning of the semester
If you've just arrived here in Krems, then our Welcome Days have been specially designed for you.
Starting off on the right foot
We've put together a colourful programme for new students at the beginning of the semester: a meet and greet, city sightseeing tours around Krems, team-building activities, intercultural workshops, and excursions.
You'll find useful tips to help you get up and running in the student union’s Survival Guide: general information about our university, and the cities of Krems and Vienna.
The Erasmus Students Network
And after you've started your studies, you'll still be well served: the Erasmus Students Network (ESN) in Krems, and the International Welcome Center are committed to providing the best possible support for our international students. Whether it's excursions, going out and partying or games evenings – your calendar will very quickly be filled with activities.
